BEFORE ANAESTHESIA

Before Anaesthesia

There are only a couple of steps that patients need to follow prior to anesthesia. First, you should not eat or drink anything at least 8 hours before surgery, and avoid smoking 12 hours before surgery. Also, you will need someone to drive you to the surgery and drive you home after. On the day of surgery, do not wear any dentures, contact lenses, or jewelry. If you regularly take medications, discuss this with your doctor to ensure that they are approved before your surgery. Other than these simple issues, there is nothing else you are required to do to prepare for your surgery.
